Meridiano Cero Wines
From the Canary Islands, Spain
In the protected space and privileged environment of the varietal reserve in the Canary Islands, and with the trade winds as its ally, Meridiano Cero wines are born.
Our production has been fully dedicated to the vinification of young, fruity and fresh wines, eager to discover demanding palates.
El Hierro D.O. (Vintage 2015)
Our stellar wine, appreciated by the best tasters and consumers, is made 100% from Baboso Negro grapes, letting it macerate in small-capacity steel vats for fifteen days. Once the malolactic fermentation is carried out, it is clarified and filtered, then left to rest for six months in new barrels of French oak allier and American oak.
It is an intense garnet red wine with purple rims, complex with aromas of wild, toasted, spicy fruits. It is balanced in the mouth, with sweet tannins and elegant, harmonic step.
Awards: Bronze Medal, La Alhondiga 2016.
The taste of our wines is defined by its distinctiveness, both in whites and reds.
COOPERATIVA DEL CAMPO FRONTERA
The vineyard is in the denominated Valle de la Frontera to the west of the Island of El Hierro, in the Canary Islands – Spain. El Hierro, the westernmost and smallest of the Canary Islands, has a long tradition in winemaking and, as in the rest of the Canarian vineyards, phylloxera has never prospered on the island, which means that old varieties of grapes like Verijadiego, Listán and Baboso still survive, still survive, without the need of grafting, so as to maintain all their varietal richness.
